Need to do an emergency remodel without breaking the bank? But
how? If it’s an emergency then we probably aren’t financially prepared for
such a thing. If you are, kudos to you. We’ve seen emergency remodels done on
laundry rooms where the laundry broke down and leaked and now all of a sudden
you have to build new walls. We’ve seen an emergency bathroom remodel where
you have to reinstall a shower head because it hasn’t been working for a week
and you no longer want a big ole tangled bun on your head. Needless to say,
we’ve seen it all. That’s why we’re here with some emergency tips to help get
you through.

If you are going through an emergency remodel
phase in your home and don’t have contingency money in your bank account then
one thing you most definitely want to do is be smart…well either way, use
your head. But, before you make any commitments to any credit cards or borrow
anything from the bank, do your research. You don’t want to make a rash
financial decision because you are in the heat of things. Some banks will
give you a lower borrowing rate for a home equity line. Some credit cards
will give you money back when you spend at certain stores. These are all
things to consider that way when you get done remodeling you don’t realize
you’ve also done remodeling to your financial life… in the worst
way.

Know where to spend money and where to save. This
could be a money saving tip in really any area in life, but we will use
emergency remodeling for now. Knowing when you can’t do something yourself
and when it’s time to hire a professional can make a huge difference.
Sometimes when we do something ourselves we actually end up spending double
the money by having to hire someone to come back in after us to do it right.
There are people that are trained in certain skills and if you aren’t one of
them then try to leave it to the experts. You can save some money by doing
any demolition yourself or prepping the area for work by yourself. This will
save you money especially if your expert is paid by the hour.
