Dealing with how to floor pool bathrooms can seem like a hassle at first. It’s difficult finding flooring materials that pair well with water as well as act as a slip resistant barrier to those who will be walking on it. Here is a list of the safest flooring for your pool bathroom ranked with most efficient first:

  1. Porcelain tile: This is a classic that has yet to be beat when it comes to flooring spaces that are susceptible to water damage. Often times this type of tile is used in bathrooms of all sorts, showers, tubs, pools, and so on due to its high resistance to water. Because of this, it is also a medium that typically is safe to walk on when wet.
  2. Ceramic tile: This also is a great water resistor. It basically works in the same way as porcelain tiling and can occasionally be a bit more cost efficient.
  3. Sheet vinyl: While this is a more recently developed material, it works just as well as the tiling would. Tiling is naturally minimally susceptible to damage due to the seams of the grout between each tile. Sheet vinyl on the other hand, has virtually no seams and is waterproof. This allows it to be an ideal surface for any area that has a lot of water affecting it.
  4. Concrete: This is a great alternative due to the nature of how you handle concrete. Since it’s poured, it’s seamless and you also have the option of stamping textures into it. This creates the opportunity to create textures that help with grip and make it so when one is walking on it you’re far less likely to slip. So long as it is properly sealed, concrete is a great pool bathroom flooring option.
  5. Vinyl tile: As with our other tile options, there will always be weak spots in the seams. This being said, vinyl is a 100% waterproof material naturally making it a wonderful option for a pool bathroom floor. So long as the seams are placed appropriately and without excess, this is still a top option for your flooring.
